Why do these look different from golden supermarket raisins?+
Golden raisins are usually sulphur-treated and tunnel-dried for uniform colour. Shade-drying is slower and gives a natural pale-green, slightly translucent look with a fresher, honeyed flavour.
Should I wash raisins before eating?+
A quick rinse is fine and softens them slightly. For baking, soak 10 minutes in warm water so they stay juicy in the oven.
